Lemon fresh scent...

Pinterest is lit up with all-natural cleaning products, so this made it super easy for me to make the change.
I use to buy multipurpose cleaner, dishwasher tablets, wood polish and bleach.
And this is what I switched things out for...
Basically I stopped using my dishwasher all together as we never had enough to fill it anyway, and started washing dishes by hand with a lemon, salt and vinegar solution.
It doesn't soap up, and that is something that took some getting use to,
but the dishes were sparkling clean and I've never had problems, with dirt or grease.
I drink a lot of fresh lemon juice so what I do with the peels is put them in a jar of white vinegar and then use it as my base for all the cleaning products.
For multipurpose cleaner I also just use the lemon and vinegar solution mixed with water,
and instead of wood polish I combine the lemon solution with olive oil.
To clean the toilet bowl, again it's the vinegar lemon solution mixed with bicarb or course salt.
I have found so many different recipes out there,
you just need to play around with them until you get what works for you.
But one thing is for sure,
you do not need a cupboard full of chemicals to get rid of dirt in your home.
All those products are toxic and should be nowhere near you!
Using these homemade products has been wonderful for keeping my house spotlessly clean, without the strong smell of bleach and other chemicals,
and once again reducing that all important carbon footprint.
Maybe also just proving to my inner forest dweller,
that I can quite easily survive without all these things.
